Douglass Design + Build is full-service construction and design firm serving the Greater Los Angeles area.

Our team is made up of industry leaders who built their careers delivering large, complex projects at some of the nation’s top construction firms. We started DDB in 2010 to offer clients the expertise of a large contractor with the personalized approach of a smaller firm. Since that time, we’ve delivered dozens of projects ranging from office to multifamily, hospitality, education and food and beverage.

Our size, process and expertise allow us to achieve cost and timeline efficiencies that you won’t find at the big firms, allowing us to provide you with the highest quality results at the best possible value.

With more than 100 collective years of construction and design experience between us, we have the skill to tackle projects of all sizes and scales. Together, the DDB team shares a passion for building quality spaces that stand the test of time and creating lasting relationships with our clients and the communities we serve.


Kevin Douglass is a 20+ year industry veteran with a proud family history in the construction industry. Having honed his craft executing complex, high-profile projects for more than a decade throughout Southern California as a project manager with Morley Builders, Kevin saw an opportunity to start a firm that would offer the expertise of a large general contractor with the personalized approach of a smaller firm.

He founded Douglass Design + Build in 2010, building a team of highly experienced construction professionals – including both project managers and expert in-house tradesman – who shared his desire to deliver the highest quality results at the best possible value. Today, under Kevin’s leadership, DDB has grown into a full-service construction and design firm serving the Greater Los Angeles area. The firm’s projects span the commercial, mixed-use and residential markets, including work for clients such as Health-Ade Kombucha, Marriott and Crossroads School in Santa Monica.

Matt Oxton brings more than 18 years of experience successfully delivering projects of all sizes and scales across Southern California to his role as partner and general superintendent with Douglass Design and Build. Matt manages all field construction operations, overseeing our expert in-house trades, partners and subcontractors and ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency.

Drawing on his extensive background in almost every facet of construction, Matt is able to quickly see a project from all angles. His leadership ensures the DDB project team is able to troubleshoot construction challenges faster and chart a path to success more effectively, bringing quality projects to life on time and within budget.

As Project Executive, Justin Grant oversees all aspects of construction operations at Douglass Design + Build, creating a streamlined, enjoyable and cost-effective experience for our clients.

From concept through construction and delivery, Justin leads our clients through a meticulously planned and executed process while keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged. Understanding that trust is earned, Justin ensures our team exceeds client expectations every step of the way.

Prior to joining DDB, Justin spent 13 years in project management and business development at a leading large-scale contractor in Southern California where he successfully delivered a variety of complex commercial, institutional and multifamily projects.

Outside of work, Justin is an active leader in the beach cities communities. He’s a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Board of Directors for the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Westside Urban Forum and Southern California Development Forum.
