Building Vital Affordable Housing in Los Angeles
Recognizing the extreme need for affordable and workforce housing in Los Angeles, DDB has partnered with nonprofit developer Toledo and the team at Jerry Sherman Architects to build seven, two-story townhome-style units east of downtown. The Canela Apartments development will feature two-bedroom, two-bath apartments with full kitchens, light-filled interiors and charming exteriors. Slated for completion in 2020, this new development will offer residents a community-driven atmosphere within walking distance to schools, shopping, coffee shops and restaurants.

- Building a privately funded, affordable housing community that meets both strict quality and budget demand standards.
- Implementing a community-minded project delivery process that minimizes construction disruption in the neighborhood and creatively managing site logistics and material lay-down areas to minimize impacts to the existing commercial driveway during construction.
